About Us
ProSkills Mission Statement
ProSkills is an AAU-registered basketball program committed to developing confident, skilled, and coachable young athletes. Founded on the belief that basketball is more than just a game, we use the sport to teach life lessons—hard work, discipline, character, and teamwork. Our USA Basketball–certified coaches prioritize fundamentals, player development, and a positive, competitive environment where effort and attitude matter as much as talent. At ProSkills, we challenge players to respect themselves, their teammates, and their community. We hold high standards on and off the court, with a focus on responsibility, resilience, and a team-first mindset. Our mission is to help every player—regardless of starting level—grow into a better athlete and an even better person.
ProSkills Basketball: A Short History
ProSkills Basketball was founded in 2008 by Justin McCurdy, shortly after graduating from Redondo Union High School. Encouraged and mentored by longtime Redondo coach Tom Maier, McCurdy launched the program while attending USC full-time. With just a bag of basketballs and 23 kids, he began building what would become a staple in the South Bay basketball community.
Over the years, McCurdy continued to grow ProSkills while also building a successful career in wealth management, working with professional athletes across the NBA, NFL, boxing, and entertainment industries.
In 2019, McCurdy partnered with Andy and Lindsey Fox to further develop the program. Lindsey, a credentialed teacher with a master’s in teaching, helped design a player and coach curriculum focused on long-term development.
Today, ProSkills is the premier club basketball program in the South Bay. It serves over 200 players from 2nd to 8th grade through its club teams, Train & Play skills clinics for kindergarten through 8th grade, and fall/spring competitive leagues. The program also hosts hundreds of summer campers annually and is expanding to include an elite Nike EYBL team.
