Everything You Need to Know

Availability & Communication

  • Player Availability: Indicate availability at least one week before a tournament, no later than Monday.

  • Minimum Players: We need at least 6-7 confirmed “yes” players to attend.

  • Game Time Requests: Saturday time preferences may be submitted the week before, but cannot be guaranteed.

  • Game Schedule Release: Game times are typically announced Wednesday or Thursday and may change until Friday night (7pm). Games can be scheduled between 7am and 9pm.

  • Priority Playing: Players marked “yes” will be prioritized over “maybe.”

  • Last-Minute Cancellations: If your player cannot attend a game, text your coach immediately so we can find a replacement.

Player Commitment

  • Basketball First: Travel team rosters are carefully built, and full commitment is expected in order to compete at the highest levels.

  • Multiple Sports: We understand many players are multi-sport athletes, but basketball tournaments require priority commitment.

Competition

  • Teams will enter tournaments that provide both the best chance of success and the greatest opportunity for growth.

  • Different Than Other Sports: Basketball tournaments vary. Some include pool play and championship games, while others focus on playing experience.

  • No Mercy Rule: Scores can be high. Players are there for the experience, competition, and development.

Game Day Expectations

  • Arrival: Players must arrive 30 minutes before tip-off. Late arrivals hurt both the player and the team.

  • Playing Time: Determined by the coach and not guaranteed to be equal.

  • 24-Hour Rule: Concerns must wait at least 24 hours after a game or practice.

  • Off-Limit Topics: Playing time and the skills of other players are not open for discussion with coaches or other parents.

Open Gym Tournaments:

Players must have a G365 Player profile.
